Radio Chitwan 94.6 MHz is the first community radio of Chitwan operated by Chitwan Community communication Co–operative organization ltd. (Shree Chitwan Samudaik Sanchar Sahakari Sanstha Ltd.) Ratnanagar which is funded by nearly one thousand reputed personalities (share holders) of Chitwan district. Since, its test transmission in Chaitra 06,2064 BS and regular transmission from 1st Jestha,2065 BS , Now Radio Chitwan has been broadcasting its radio programmes for 18 hours a day regularly.

Being conducted by the community and concerned with social responsibilities rather than profit , Radio Chitwan has given greater priority to informative programmes than entertainment alone. No doubt it has been exposing the positive aspects of society creating mass awareness to eradicate the social evils. That’s why Radio Chitwan has become popular among the listeners within a short period of time.
